I live in Beaverton, OR with my wonderful large family of children (6), grandchildren (6), and assorted dogs and cats. In addition to Havanese, we own a purebred Bouvier Des Flandres, and purebred Ragdoll and British Shorthair cats. We recently welcomed Mikko and Inna into our family. They are Tamaskans, a rare wolf-like breed out of Finland which is being introduced into the United States. We are one of a handful of families across the country to own a Tamaskan. To learn more about Tamaskans, go the the NTCA website. After years of only owning larger dogs, I became interested in smaller breeds, and the personality, temperament and size of the Havanese was an exact fit. I am an associate member in good standing of the Cascade Havanese Club and a founding member of the Oregon Trail Havanese Club. I am also a member of the Havanese Club of America (www.havanese.org ), and Chairman of the HCA Public Education Committee. Our Havanese are owner handled. Last summer, my daughter, Lizzy, showed our Hondo (Havadoros Hondo of Dreamland Farm) to his AKC Championship. In the fall of 2007, she finished championships out of the Bred By Exhibitor class on Apollo (Ch. Havadoros No Apologies) and Cara (Ch. Havadoros Cara Mia). Raising our puppies is also a family affair. My younger daughters, Lizzy and Hayley, are involved with puppy care from the early days of the ENS exercises to grooming and showing our Havanese. Our puppies are lovingly raised in our home to ensure they receive the proper foundation to make their transition to their new home as smooth as possible. At 8 weeks, a puppy structure and temperament evaluation is conducted on each puppy in the litter to give us an even better idea of which puppy would be most suitable for prospective owners. |

Beginning with our selective breeding program, we raw feed our dogs and carefully monitor nutritional needs of the dame and puppies, provide early neurological stimulation and puppy socialization, and carefully screen applicants to ensure all puppies and potential puppy buyers are fully prepared for each other by the time they are ready to go to their new homes. Ideal homes for Havadoros Havanese will view their new Havanese puppy as a valued member of the family, first and foremost. And we love to see pictures and hear about all of the successes of our pups after they leave home! |
